The PEERS® (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills) program is a social skills group designed for socially motivated participants to learn the unwritten rules on how to make and keep meaningful friendships. In this program, participants will discuss, problem solve and practice a variety of different social interactions aimed at building their confidence in navigating their social world.
Sessions consist of both caregiver and youth groups that run simultaneously.
Topics to be explored: conversation skills, choosing appropriate friends, use of humor, planning a get together, using good sportsmanship, handling rejection and gossip.
TIME: Sessions are 1.5 hours for 12 weeks
